Core Values
Humanity
GURDA is dedicated to lifting up disadvantaged and struggling communities. We believe everyone should be given the ability to prosper and fulfill their potential. We will work together to build strong communities that promote education, good health, self-sufficiency, and entrepreneurship.
Voluntary Service
GURDA is centered in the belief of giving back to the community, without desire for gain.
Impartiality
GURDA does not discriminate in its membership or in its selection of philanthropic projects on the basis of gender, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, lifestyle, or any other group protected by state or federal discrimination laws.
Unity
GURDA believes in the power of collaboration and common values. Our members across the world are vast and diverse, but work towards a common goal to support disadvantaged communities.
Neutrality
GURDA funds only non-political community initiatives and projects. We will not engage in disputes or take sides in controversies of a political, racial, religious, or ideological nature.
Independence
While GURDA's charter supports philanthropic organizations in Ethiopia that focus on GURDA's mission, GURDA's international volunteers may also support local communities outside of Ethiopia. This type of volunteer work is independent from GURDA, unless otherwise agreed upon by GURDA.
